FORT MINOR PRESS RELEASE

Mike Shinoda will release his much anticipated hip hop side project under the name, Fort Minor, on November 22nd on Linkin Park's label Machine Shop Recordings / Warner Bros. Records. The album entitled The Rising Tied is executive produced by Jay-Z and features collaborations with a variety of well-known artists including Black Thought, Linkin Park's Joe Hahn and new Machine Shop artists Styles of Beyond and Holly Brook. The album is produced by Shinoda, who not only wrote every track, but played nearly every instrument as well."The Fort Minor record is all about getting back to basics in hip hop, both sonically and for me personally," shared Shinoda. "And working with Jay-Z again has been phenomenal. We can't wait for people to hear the final product."

Currently the club 12" "Petrified"/"Remember the Name" is being shipped to club and mix show DJ's nationwide. Both tracks will be available for download starting October 4th online.
Shinoda is half the vocal firepower of the multi-platinum, Grammy-winning band Linkin Park, trading diaphragmatic diatribes with singer Chester Bennington and infusing the searing alternative rock with equally intense hip-hop.

Fort Minor is a wholly unique, unadulterated hip hop album, owing as much to Shinoda's polished lyricism as his musical adeptness. The variety of themes, styles and moods he creates make this side project likely to do much more than simply satisfy existing Linkin Park fans; it threatens to expose Shinoda as a rap devotee who is as at home in hip hop as he is in the cross-genre hybrid of Linkin Park.

Multiple Grammy Award-winning group Linkin Park has sold over 35 million records worldwide in just five years. I've updated the site quite a bit, adding some links and some music and some other stuff. now it doesn't look quite as boring... lol.

i've been in kind of a bad mood for the past week or so just because i think that the world is just so fucked up right now.. and that the people in charge always seem to be lacking certain skills needed to *cough* RUN A COUNTRY! i just don't understand how we can get by with such mediocre standards of the people who are at the pentagon and the white house. i mean, look at the hurricane katrina disaster. it strikes me odd that we are soo sloow on the uptake as far as goes helping survivors and all that, when we have had hurricanes before and we have dealt with major losses before. Helllooo, this is not a new thing! The song i've put on my page is really relevant to all of this too, i hope anyone that comes to this site realizes this fact.

And of course, there's a list of tons of things that have been pissing me off recently. this is just the topic that's bounded to the top of the heap.

It's all I can do sometimes from just screaming at people. I don't understand when this world became so lazy and incompetent... it's aggravating, to say the least.

I'll stop ranting and complaining I suppose... bye.

isn't that just the most insane thing in the world? it took A LOT of guts for Kanye West to say that stuff, especially with an image to protect (he has an album coming out soon), and i think it was pretty inappropriate for him to bring up such a topic when they were trying to raise money for the people down there; no, that wasn't necessarily a smart move. But i agree on where he is coming from. I find it sad that he will lose respect for voicing his beliefs, if they are wrong or not doesn't matter. I'm neither here nor there with Bush; then again, that's how i felt about kerry. i just kinda listened to what both had to say and decided that you know what? they're both just politicians and it doesn't matter who gets office really. it'll be what it'll be.

oh yeah, and look at the picture above that I found off the fort minor forums (there's a few discussions about hurricane Katrina and relief efforts). If you look at both articles, the one featuring a black man in the water says that he "walks through chest deep water after LOOTING a grocery store in New Orleans" while the one with two white people says "Two residents wade through chest deep water after FINDING bread and soda from a local grocery store". Am i the only one who sees something a little wrong with this?

as i type this i can see that both articles are from different sources, true; but don't you think that the same sources have printed many more stories just like them? I think it's just so infuriating that such discrimination is being surfaced at a time like this. i mean a hurricane DID just hit our country hard, didn't it? The south is pretty much UNDERWATER, isnt it? don't you think we should just pull together and forget all that bs for a while and focus on our main prerogatives instead of discriminating against people? yeah, there is a big looting problem going on right now and yes, it's not a good thing for that to be happening in a time of crisis. but i still think that it's wrong for articles like ths to be printed.

Ackness... if i keep worrying like this i'm going to give myself a migraine. Maybe i shouldn't worry about it so much, because all this ranting and raving i'm doing won't do anything for anyone. well, there's no where else to rant about it without anyone else (well, there are those of you that leave comments) to come back at me if i say something that might be stupid.

Hey all...

I have a link now listed for a great site with a whole bunch of Linkin Park songs that aren't on their main releases. They rock... I recommend anything from Hybrid Theory EP and any of their miscellaneous stuff. I'm listening to The Morning After right now, and it rox.

I am so flipping bored right now. I was supposed to go the mall today, but my mother decided it was a nice day outside today and wanted to work in the yard so all chance of being able to go are now gone... ackness.

Hey all...

I'm just hanging out. I haven't posted in a while because... ah, to hell with it. I post whenever I want, end of story.

lmao.

I've just been checking out the Fort Minor site, and it's really worth it. If anyone reading this has heard of Linkin Park and likes them, they'll like Fort Minor. It's giving Mike Shinoda, the emcee of Linkin Park, a chance to expand on his roots of hip hop. But before you judge it and say that he's just another gangster rapper, read this. Mike Shinoda doesn't rap about having sex and shooting people, and rarely cusses in his raps. He's probably the most clever and versatile rapper today I have ever heard because of that.

So check out the site. If you are new to Linkin Park as well, you can click on any of the numerous LP links I have listed... they are all cool.

Famous emcee Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park is working on a solo project with a group of his friends in the hip hop community called Fort Minor. His upcoming FM album is to be entitled The Rising Tied, and judging by Mike's versatile rhymes, this should be an awesome success. I am trying to fulfill my role as a Street Soldier and getting the word out to anyone and everyone about Mike's new album and Fort Minor.

Very Lazy Day....

Today was a very slow day for me... I stayed home in my pajamas and just hung out, really. Well, I did clean my room and move my bed, I guess that counts for something.
I've been feeling up and down all day as to my well being... I think I'm sick. Maybe I'll stay home from school tomorrow. I don't want to worsen whatever I have by trying to go to school.
I am now going to drench myself in flu syrup.

I just got back from seeing the Lippizaner Stallions perform; my mom got tickets from work and I got to go see them with my sister, her friend, my friend, her mom, and my mom. It has got to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen, and I hope that someday I will be able to see them again; maybe even in Vienna. lol...

*After reading this, don't think I'm anti USA, I just was watching the news the other day and was watching this thing about college professors in Eastern WA being oppressive, and then my dad's professor also during his liberal arts term graded him down on papers for not conforming to her opinion. I thought it was unfair, so I wrote this.*

All the Same to Me

After my long slump, my computer is finally virus-free and I have internet!!! All things should go well now, as long as I don't download anything weird or go into any chat rooms. Which kind of sux I suppose, but whatever.

I am really excited because I am going to be in my first musical and I just found out I got a leading part!!! It's called "Honk!", and it's a British musical about the story of the ugly duckling. I get to play a hen named Henrietta, and I get to do a lot of opening scenes and scenes with the lead actors. It's going to be SO fun, I can't wait until rehearsals in July.

I'm just in a really good mood overall; everything seems great right now.

I've got poems, too... There are two versions of this poem. One is called "The Future", and the other is called "All the Same to Me". Same concept... different endings... see what you think.

my internet is disconnected... so i probably won't be able to do n e thing on my blog for a while, until my dad fixes the connection and gets rid of all the viruses on our LAN. ack. but anyway...

i am 14 now! yay! my b day was christmas day, great fun. i also am going through the usual teenage paces, school is as it usually is, boring and annoying, and my friends are as they always are. cool, yet at the same time complexly irritating.

Okay. First post. What should I say? Well, I am in the eighth grade and am thirteen years old. I have blue eyes, brown hair, and am 5'6". I'm into metal and rock music, especially green day and linkin park, writing, and working on improving my band...er, well, getting organized to start one anyway. I also like to go horse back riding...my sister has two horses and I have one. I have a great group of friends, and even though we don't always like each other, we are one tight posse. I'm just a normal kid trying to make it through my teenage years in one piece...and gain some experience as I go along. I'm not exactly great at this whole website blog deal, but I'll get better as I go along, I hope.
