*After reading this, don't think I'm anti USA, I just was watching the news the other day and was watching this thing about college professors in Eastern WA being oppressive, and then my dad's professor also during his liberal arts term graded him down on papers for not conforming to her opinion. I thought it was unfair, so I wrote this.*
All the Same to Me
As we go on we hear the words once said
We repeat the mistakes once made
And destroy the bonds once held strong
Just to meet our own needs
Selfishly taking, never giving back
And as we ask the same questions over and over
Hassling the youths that will build our futures
Shape our lives and hopes for those who have nothing
Shooting them down before getting the chance to blossom
Abolishing any desire to be different or to achieve
It’s this robotic race, the metallic pace,
The armies of soldiers who all think the same
Dress the same, talk the same
Unknowingly creating a living hell
Condemning all chance of individuality
Oh no wait what’s that again?
Strange words caress the page
No one knows what they mean,
Only speculation crosses our minds
But even that isn’t the same
Left right left, marching down these broken streets,
Void of emotion, no hate or pain,
It’s almost funny, no more suffering or death,
Yet why are the faces somber and silent?
Not even we know, oh wait, we are a part of them
Stop this madness, eternal chaos,
A ruling dictator, unseen but looming ominously,
A singled minded leader, a fearless general at the head,
Fearless but blind, blind and deaf to the calls of those left behind,
Warnings left unheeded and trodden in the dust
Repeating the mistakes we once laughed about,
Now are they ignored completely? Don’t even answer that,
We know it’s true, but who cares if it’s said?
No one will stand up to the oppression taking hold
United States, fearless states, all the same states, equal because it’s all the same.
